Over the past few years, Myrtle Beach locals and tourists alike have been fortunate to see upgrades to some popular hot spots. Barefoot Landing got a much needed facelift and benefitted with the addition of a brand new playground for the kids as well as Lulu’s, Lucy Buffett’s restaurant, bar & live music venue. Broadway at the Beach rebranded Celebrity Square, moved Hard Rock Cafe to make room for Dave & Busters and also added Wahlburger’s. Downtown, Tin Roof and RipTydz breathed new life into the heart of Myrtle Beach. 2019 looks to be yet another year to improve the city we all know and love. Take a glimpse into the future with us!
If you have driven by Broadway at the Beach within the past few months, then there is a good chance you have already seen where the next modern day driving range will reside! Topgolf is a national brand with locations from coast to coast. Think of it as a high end bowling alley, but with golf as the sport of choice. You and your friends will be able to sip on your favorite cocktails as you dive into chef-inspired dishes all while playing a casual round of golf! Don’t worry if you aren’t an everyday golfer as there are games for beginners all the way to professionals. There will be 72 climate-controlled hitting bays, a full-service restaurant, multiple bars, private meeting spaces, rooftop terrace with fire pit, hundreds of televisions and free Wi-Fi. Not too shabby!
You may be familiar with 710 in North Myrtle Beach. 710 is an upscale bowling alley and restaurant that can provide hours of fun for your family. 810 Billiards & Bowling is no different! They are owned by the same company and provide similar (if not the same) entertainment. The first 810 location opened up in the fall of 2018 in Market Common (the old Piggly Wiggly) and was such a smashing success that they built their own state-of-the-art building across from Coastal Carolina University in Conway that opened early 2019. You have the ability to bowl, play pool, toss some cornhole or bocce, eat, drink, be merry or all of the above. From 4pm to 7pm on weeknights, enjoy 25% off pizzas and drink specials. Can’t beat that!
During the summer of 2018, the Simpsons made their appearance at Broadway at the Beach. The Kwik-E-Mart opened up selling the iconic extra large donuts with pink icing and sprinkles and Squishees for a true taste of nostalgia. Opening in 2019 will be the Simpsons in 4D motion ride. Springfield’s Aztec Theater will include your favorite characters such as Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie in a new 4D adventure. Not many details have been released, however, the ride will not be a replica of the rides at Universal Studios in Florida. This ride will feature a new plot line in addition to special effects.
